What's the best type of clothing to wear when on the river?
The water temperature varies depending on what time of the year you arrive. Typically in the summer, a swimsuit is plenty. We also highly recommend a pair of water shoes because the rocks in the river are painful to walk on. If you are coming during the spring or fall, we recommend dressing in materials such as neoprene or a drysuit to keep yourself comfortable in the cool water.
My family has a non-paddler among us. What else is there to do in the area?
Try a walk along the river. About 20 minutes by car, you'll find a beautiful virgin white pine forest, with an active heron rookery. The Bear also has nearby access to mountain bike trails. In addition to hiking, White Lake has a beautiful public beach with a swimming area. Fishing the Wolf River is also a popular spring, summer, and fall activity.
If shopping is your interest, visit the arts and crafts shops in nearby Lakewood . While you're there, take a tour of the Lakewood winery. Or just take it easy spend the afternoon relaxing at a one of several nearby beaches. Check out www.wolfriverterritory.com.

Be mindful of other guests. If your pet is uncomfortable around other people, leave it at home. Having a pet in any of the standard cabin or chalet units will result in a $150/night fee.

Your reservation may be transferred to a different person but it may not be transferred to a different date.>
What's the weather like?
We'd like to say that it's always sunny and warm, and the river is running high. But it wouldn't be true. We've found that if you dress for bad weather, a good time can be had. Give us a call if you'd like to know the river level or use the links on the Wolf River page of our site to access the USGS gauge.
Can I make a telephone call?
Cell phone service is spotty in the area, however, we have a courtesy phone on site, where you can make free calls from. The courtesy phone is available during the restaurant hours. Phones are not available in any of our rooms.
Can you hold a space for me?
Unfortunately we can't. We require deposits on all lodging reservations. If a room or campsite is available, we would be happy to rent it to you with no minimum length of stay if there is no reservation.
Did the tornado really blow those kayaks up in that tree?
